- Q- How do I contact VERRE DE CONTACT.com ?
1- Q- What do I need to consider when buying contact lenses on the internet ? Is my contact lens prescription current ?
R- You should always have a current, correct prescription when you order contact lenses. If you have not had a check-up in the last one to two years, you may have problems with your eyes that you are aware of, or your contact lenses may not correct your vision well.
2- Q- What do the markings on the box containing the lenses mean ?
PWR : This number refers to refractive power. It represents the amount of
refraction needed to give thye patient 20/20 distance vision. The bigger the
number, the more correction is necessary.
-
BC : means base curve and determines the radical curvature of the back surface of the lens.
-
Dia : Means diameter and tells us how far it is straight across the lensfrom edge to edge.
Note : There may be other information on your prescription, such as color
for colored lenses, brand of your contact lenses and date of the prescription.
3- Q- Is it alright to sleep with my contacts in my eyes ?
R- To take a nap for let’s say half an hour is not a medical issue regardless which lens you use. If you wish to sleep a whole night with your lenses you must have a certain type of lens that is designed for that kind of use. You should also consult your optometrist before you start to sleep with your lenses.
4- Q- Can I change my lenses to a different kind as long as the parameters are the same ?
R- It is not certain that two different lenses behave the same on the eye just because the parameters are the same due to different materials and thickness. You should never use a lens that you haven’t been advised too use by your optometrist.
5- Q- Is it possible to correct presbyopia with contacts ?
R- Yes it is, there are two different ways to deal with presbyopia. The first is to have correction for distant vision on one eye and for reading distance on the other eye. The second option is to wear progressive contacts which have optics for both distant and near vision in each lens.
6- Q- I have questions about eye diseases or eyes troubles ?
R- If you have any questions or problems with presbyopia, astigmatism, myopic, etc., please ask specific advise to your optometrist.
7- Q- What are the differences between soft and rigid lenses ?
R- A soft lens has a predetermined length of life, from one day to one year. The soft lenses is almost always instantly comfortable but a rigid lens takes some getting use to, from a couple of days up to a month. After that time, the rigid lens will also be comfortable. Because a ridid lens does’nt have any predetermined length of life, it’s the condition of the lens that determines when it’s time to change the lens.
8- Q- Do I need to consult an optometrist before I buy contactlenses ?
R- Yes you shoulkd always consult an optometrist before you buy lenses to make sure you get the correct prescription and that your eyes are in good health
